"I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full" John 10:10
We have a school council as we know that the pupils at our school are the people best placed to make informed decisions about our school. Whether it is rewriting the school’s bullying policy, selecting reward trips or working with people in the local schools and neighbourhood, our school council is an effective tool in ensuring Ellesmere Port Catholic High School goes from strength to strength.
Each year group elects two members to the school council on an annual basis – every pupil is allowed to nominate themselves. We believe it is an important element of democracy that each pupil’s voice is heard and that each pupil’s vote is equal.
The school council meets fortnightly and will often invite staff and Governors to meet with them so as to have a fuller understanding of the needs of the school. They take the lead on assemblies, have delivered presentations to both the Governors and teaching staff and have welcomed countless guests to the school.
