Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy catch-up premium
The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium provides schools with an additional funding for each year 7 pupil who did not achieve at least level 4 in Reading and/or Maths at the end of key stage 2.
For the financial Year 2016-17 Ellesmere Port Catholic High School received £13,977 Catch up funding.
The school has the responsibility of deciding the most effective use of the funding. At Ellesmere Port Catholic High School we are committed to ensuring that all students are able to fully access the curriculum. The funding we receive is used to enable ‘Catch-up’ students, who arrive with less than a Level 4 in Reading or Maths, progress to a Level 4 as soon as possible. We provide additional support to these students and have purchased Lexia software to improve literacy skills for small groups of students to motivate them and be clear of their own learning paths.
